UPDATE 8-19-16 – WOW!  That was fast!  We had multiple inquiries on this one. And it went to the very first person!  So, it’s already SOLD!

Ever wanted a high-quality acoustic resonator guitar but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg?  This Dobro brand “Hound Dog Deluxe” roundneck model from Gibson is just the ticket.  In addition to the classic metal resonator cone/plate, it has an all-wood body (as opposed to all-metal), so it has has a warm, mellow tone, ideal for playing bluegrass, Americana, folk, country and the like.  But it also has enough “squawk” and “bite” to work well for blues too.  Its specific model number is DWHOUNDLX.

This beautiful guitar was purchased new in 2011 and has only been played a few times.  Both the guitar and the hardshell case are in MINT condition.

Part of the beauty of this instrument’s tone comes from its all-maple body.  It has a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard.  The finish is a beautiful “flame” design, which you can see in the photos.  The instrument doesn’t just sound beautiful, it looks stunning as well.

This is a round-neck model (not a square-neck) and its action/string height is set to be played either perpendicular like a normal, fretted guitar, or flat on the lap with a resonator bar/slide.  For those who want to raise the action to bar/slide-only playing height, I recommend the Grover Perfect Guitar Nut accessory, which only costs between $5 and $10 online and does the job quite well.  Click here to see the Grover Perfect Guitar Nut in action:

The neck is nice and narrow and very easy to play, even if you have small hands.  If you’ve never owned/played a Dobro-style resonator before, this instrument is a fantastic place to start.  It’s also a great, all-around model for experienced Dobro players to take to gigs and studio sessions.

And speaking of gigs and sessions, this model comes with a built-in Fishman pickup, so it’s plug-and-play.

If you would like to hear this instrument’s beautiful tone first-hand, here are a couple of samples from a real Nashville studio session where it was recently used:

This guitar lists for $999.  We’re asking $599 with the brand-new case included, and will include FREE shipping within the continental U.S. It’s an excellent deal.  If you’re interested, please email us.  Serious inquiries only, please.
